What happened in the months after the departure of US forces from Afghanistan? This documentary follows one of the Taliban leaders in the first year. Discussion of the film with Dr. Nick Grossman from UIUC will proceed and follow the film.
The departure of US forces from Afghanistan was chaotic and deadly, and this German-American documentary takes a frank look at all of it. This 2023 documentary chronicles the daily life of Taliban air force commander Mawlawi Mansour and one of his soldiers, M. J. Mukhtar. Guest speaker will help give us context for our discussion.
