Members of the Filipino American Society of Central Illinois discussed the impact their community has had on the American experience through the lens of the contributions they have made.
Filipino-Americans play a significant, but often overlooked, role in the economic, cultural, and educational tapestry of the American experience. They also continue to play a role in the country of their birth. Various members of the Filipino American Society of Central Illinois will share their stories and their perspectives as we explore the role of this immigrant community. In addition, Peoria Public Schools is hosting several teachers from Philippines to teach during the next three school years. Some of the members of this group will also join the discussion.
